COLORADO Select Program and tryouts for the 2023/24 season.

The CO Select Program is part of the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) which continues to offer Colorado elite player’s opportunities for added development and player recognition as it has in the past.  If you are interested in trying out for your age group’s CO Select/ODP team this year you will need to register online and show up for the two tryout dates. We feel it is vital to see players a couple of times so that we can get a valid evaluation.

What is ODP and what are the plans for the 2023-24 year?

CO Select is part of the Olympic Development Program which is a program designed to recognize, train, and promote elite players from Colorado Soccer.  Players are invited to the above-mentioned tryouts based on club recommendations, past selection for pools, participating on teams in the upper divisions of the Colorado Soccer Advanced league, or being recognized by state staff.  Tryouts will lead to a pool of players being selected for each age group.

The following is the tentative schedule for the year. It is broken up into the following time periods:

CO Select Tryouts: Each age group will have two tryout dates during the period of June 3-18. Player Pools will be selected after the tryout dates. Please make note of your tryout dates and times posted earlier in this document.

June–November: Pools train during this period to determine the 16 players for the team and alternates to represent CO  at the West Region ODP Championships which are held in Phoenix  January 4-8, 2024.

November–January: Much of this period would be focused to train the team and alternates in preparation for the West Region Championships.

January 4-8, 2024: West Region ODP Championships – Phoenix, AZ

March–May: Possible pool training during these months.

The pools will utilize summer weeknights and or weekends for training and usually Sundays during the school year. A team of 16-18 players will be selected to represent Colorado at the West Region ODP Championships which will be held January 4-8, 2024, in Phoenix, AZ.

The 2012 age group will not be part of that event and instead participates in an event in Northern California February 9-11. 2024. It is mainly from this event that players will be selected for Regional Camp in the summer. After the championships, there are Sub-Regional events for individual players to attend at the Regional Level.  From these events, individual players can also be selected for invitations to Regional Camp in the summer.

Please show up 30 minutes early on the first day of registration to check in.  You will also receive a confirmation/information email in the week prior to your first tryout date.
