COLORADO Select Program and tryouts for the 2024/25 season.

CO Select is a branch of the Olympic Development Program (ODP) run by US Soccer. It is a state-run selection and evaluation process where players will be chosen to represent their state, the West Region, and eventually the National Team.

CO Select is divided into three platforms:

  1. Front Range CO Select (2008-2013 Birth Years)

  2. Mountain Region CO Select (2008-2013 Birth Years) Mirrors the Front Range CO Select Program but all sessions are held on the Western Slope to assist with travel for families.

  3. Young Olympians (2014, 2015 Birth Years) A pre-CO Select program that allows players the chance to participate in regionalized training sessions and be evaluated by the State Coaching Staff

SELECTION PROCESS (APPLIES TO BOTH FRONT RANGE 2008s-2012s AND MOUNTAIN REGION 2008s-2013s):

    1. CO SELECT TRYOUTS - Open to all who register for tryouts. Players will be guaranteed 4 sessions to be evaluated but must attend at least 1 to be selected into the pool.

    2. CO SELECT STATE POOL - Pools of 30-40 players will be selected from the tryouts. Those players that made the pool will be given 2 sessions a month run by their state team coaching staff.

    3. CO SELECT STATE TEAM – ODP CHAMPIONSHIPS: A team of 16-18 players will be selected from the player pool to travel and compete in the ODP Championships held in Phoenix, Arizona the first weekend of January.

    4. CO SELECT STATE TEAM – TRAVEL EVENT: A team of 16-18 players that were unable to travel or not selected for the ODP Championships will be taken to a secondary travel event and represent Colorado.

    5. WEST REGION ODP CAMP - Scouts will be present at the ODP Championships and the secondary travel event looking for players to invite to the West Region ODP Camp held in Salt Lake City, Utah at the beginning of July.

    6. WEST REGIONAL TEAM - INTERREGIONAL EVENT: A team of 16-18 players will be selected from the West Region ODP Camp to travel and compete in the ODP Interregional Event held in Orlando, Florida at the end of January. This team will represent the West Region and compete against the other 3 Regions across the country (South, Midwest, and East).

    7. NATIONAL TEAM - INTERNATIONAL EVENT: Scouts will be present at the Interregional event and select a team of 16-18 players to travel and compete in an international event in the spring of that same year.

*Then the cycle repeats itself, starting with the CO Select Tryouts

2013 FRONT RANGE CO SELECT AND 2014 YOUNG OLYMPIANS: These age groups will be traveling to and competing in the Northern California ODP Regional Event in early February. We will take two teams for each birth year (25-30 players) to represent Colorado.

Regional Staff Scouts will be present at this event to invite the top 2013s to West Region ODP Camp in July.

  • Girls: June 29th - two sessions - Fort Logan

  • Boys: July 13th - two sessions - Fort Logan

  • Girls: July 14th - two sessions - Fort Logan

Mountain Region CO Select Tryouts:
Must be present for at least 1 session to be eligible for pool selection

Boys/Girls:

  • August 17th & August 18th - four sessions - Glenwood Springs, CO

Young Olympians:
The fee covers all four sessions, but is not mandatory. We are trying to keep these regions to help with travel.
Boys/Girls:

  • June 23rd - Denver, CO

  • June 30th - Windsor, CO

  • July 21st - Colorado Springs, CO

  • Aug 18th - Glenwood Springs, CO

Cost: The state only charges enough to operate the program and to ensure the right resources are put into making this program the ultimate experience for our players. For planning purposes, please be aware that costs will be incurred as your player continues to be selected. We try everything in our power to keep the costs minimal while also trying to compensate our exceptional coaching staff for their time, travel, and commitment to the program.

Please show up 30 minutes early on the first day of registration to check in.  You will also receive a confirmation/information email in the week prior to your first tryout date.
