Allan James Memorial Scholarship Overview & Donation
The Colorado Soccer Association Allan James Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Allan James, a longtime employee of the Colorado Soccer Association.
Allan, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, was the backbone of CSA’s business operations for 25 years. He knew the ins and outs of the daily operations at CSA, and his knowledge of the Association’s history made him a key decision maker. Allan handled many other aspects of CSA, including, but not limited to: risk management, insurance, human resources and grants.
Because Allan was such an integral part of Colorado Soccer Association, it was CSA’s honor to help establish the Allan James Memorial Scholarship in his memory. Each year, the Scholarship gives $1,000 toward college tuition to one deserved female and one deserved male soccer player in the State of Colorado.
*100% of all donations made will go toward the Allan James Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Allan James Memorial Scholarship Application
The application window is open and will close Tuesday, December 2, 2026. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Allan James Memorial Scholarship:
Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
Must carry a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Must be a registered CSA player at time of application.
Must have participated with CSA member club(s)/team(s) for a minimum of 5 years.
Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
Application must include the following items below:
Letter of recommendation from an adult who is not related to the applicant.
List of all CSA clubs and teams for which the applicant has played.
List of the colleges and/or universities to which the applicant has applied or will apply.
Transcript displaying a 2.5 GPA or higher.
List of extracurricular activities, hobbies, and interests.
Personal Statement: In 500 words or less, describe how soccer has helped shape you into the person you are today and the person you strive to become.
