Colorado Referee Committee nominates new Board of Directors and fills key administrative committee positions at special meeting
Greenwood Village, Colo., (January 13, 2016) – The Colorado Referee Committee, the administrative body, and non-profit corporation for Colorado soccer referees, held a special meeting of the membership of the Colorado Referee Committee on January 4, where seven new Directors were elected to serve the non-profit corporation. The Directors were interviewed and nominated by a committee which included Mike Edwards, the Executive Vice President of US Soccer. The positions are effective January 30, 2016.
Aldo DelPiccolo, Chair (non-voting role)
“Colorado Soccer is pleased with the number of applicants for these positions, and even more pleased with the enthusiasm that these individuals are bringing to the Colorado Referee Committee and the Colorado Referee Program,” says Jeff Ruebel, President, Colorado Soccer Association. “There is a universal desire to improve the game experience for soccer referees, from education, to the opportunity to advance. We know this Board will be able to make a real impact on the game of soccer in Colorado on behalf of soccer referees.”
In addition to new Directors, formal administrative positions mandated by US Soccer were also filled at the meeting.

Director of Mentorship – Ben Chouaf
Director of Assessment – Eric Bryan
Disciplinary Matters – Flint Whitlock, J. Kirk McGill, Tom Widera
“This is a talented group of referees who have the interests of referees at heart,” says Nate Shotts, Chief Executive Officer, Colorado Soccer Association. “They have indicated they want to build a strong community of referees and we have no doubt that they will accomplish that goal.”
